What To Pack

Ready to go for your ski vacation, you will now have to figure out what are the necessary stuff that you need to pack. Many times for new beginner for this ski vacation, you may not even know what you really need to pack. It is the distance from your home to your destination but you will have problems figuring out what to bring. Also, skis are not easily fit into your suitcases and if you are flying then this will be a huge problem.

Firstly, you have to decide where is your destination. Next you have to know if there is a rental shop. If yes then you will need to find out the rental fees for boots, skis and poles. Once the price is quite reasonable, then you would not mind renting the ski equipment. Thus this will be a viable option and making your packing and travelling much easier.

Or if rental equipment is no problem, then you just need to enquire if there are any ski shops in that area where you are going. Just check the prices for the skis, boots and poles. At the same time, check to see if they buy used equipment. Make some calls to find out the prices you can get for used equipment. Compare the difference in cost that you need to pay for the used equipment and selling them after finishing with it. If the cost is not much difference then go and buy the used equipment instead of rental.

Things like ski jackets, sweaters amd ski suits are very bulky and difficult to pack. Since they are very bulky and it will definitely take up the space in your suitcase thus leaving no space for your clothing and other essentials. Imagine if you are going for 2 weeks ski vacation, definitely it will be impossible to squeeze everything in just one suitcase.

There is an easy alternative to resolve this issue. Simply call the lodge or resort that you are going to stay. Inform them that you will need to ship a package for yourself to their resort as you will be needing this package when you arrive. Contact them to hold it at the desk and you will pick it up once you have arrived at their resort. Most of the cases, they are likely to accept. Once you have settled it, get a box and pack all those bulky items in the box and ship it out yourself in care of the resort. Shipping of the box can take 1 day or up to a few days depending on the destination. The cost of the shipping will depend on its weights and it will likely be less than 50 dollars within the continental United States than having it as an extra baggage by air.
